Claims Firm Boss Jailed For Taking Company Funds

Law360, London (November 15, 2018, 1:50 PM GMT) -- The boss of a personal injury claims firm has been jailed for 21 months after fraudulently taking tens of thousands of pounds from his company months before the business was closed by the courts, a government agency said on Thursday.

Darren Bullough was also disqualified for seven years from managing a company when he appeared before a judge on Wednesday, the Insolvency Service said. He pleaded guilty at Bolton Crown Court to one count of fraudulently removing funds from Direct Assist Ltd. after creditors lodged a petition to wind up the company.
