Dispute Over Ship Repair Insurance Paused For 6 Months

Law360, London (April 11, 2019, 6:11 PM BST) -- The owner of a ship that was forced to stop trading after sustaining severe damage has entered out-of-court talks with the nine insurers it is suing in London, including units of RSA Group PLC and HSBC Holdings PLC, according to a new court order.

High Court Judge Andrew Popplewell signed off on a consent order Tuesday giving the parties six months for settlement talks, after they agreed to enter alternative dispute resolution.

“A stay of proceedings is ordered for a period of six months from the date of this order,” Judge Popplewell said. “There shall be no order as to costs.”...
