Daewoo Shipbuilding Can't Get Awards To Songa Nixed
Law360, London (September 2, 2020, 8:36 PM BST) -- An English judge has dismissed a bid by Daewoo Shipbuilding to overturn arbitration awards in favor of the European offshore drilling contractor Songa.
On Tuesday, High Court Judge Nerys Jefford refused two applications by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. seeking to appeal two awards issued to Songa in June 2019. She said Daewoo Shipbuilding's argument that the tribunal's decision was irregular has a "complete lack of merit."
