Dispute Over Litigation Funding Advice Halted In UK Courts
Law360, London (January 11, 2019, 4:38 PM GMT) -- Court proceedings in London in a dispute between a Bermuda-based fund that specializes in financing litigation and U.K. law firm Hamilton Downing Quinn LLP over allegations of negligent advice have been stayed after both sides reached a confidential agreement, according to new filings.
The claim, which was brought by Global Distressed Alpha Fund III Ltd. Partnership, or GDAF, against the law firm in January 2018, has been paused after a deal was made outside the High Court on Dec. 10, according to a consent order approved by Deputy Master Jonathan Arkush on Wednesday.
