UK Student Housing Biz Lands £140M Development Deal

Law360 (January 10, 2019, 5:32 PM EST) -- University Partnerships Programme, the U.K.'s largest student housing firm, said on Thursday that it has closed a £139.7 million ($178 million) deal with the University of Exeter to design, build, fund and operate new housing accommodations on campus.

UPP Group Ltd., which does business as University Partnerships Programme, has agreed to develop the university’s East Park Project, in the city of Exeter in Devon, South West England, which will feature 1,182 high-quality bedrooms on the University’s Streatham Campus. The project is slated to begin in January 2019 and will become operational in two phases ending September 2020 and September 2021....
