Supreme Court To Hear Insurer's Faulty Breast Implant Appeal

Law360, London (February 11, 2019, 6:39 PM GMT) -- The European arm of U.S. insurer Travelers can take its dispute over the liability of costs incurred by hundreds of women who successfully sued one of its clients over faulty breast implants to the U.K.'s Supreme Court, it was confirmed Monday.

The U.K.'s top appellate court has granted Travelers Insurance Co. Ltd. permission to appeal a Court of Appeal decision from May 17, which found the insurer liable for costs arising from litigation against its client Transform Medical Group over the supply of defective breast implants manufactured by French company Poly Implant Prothese.
