UK measures to prevent subscription traps may take effect in 2027

( April 2, 2026, 14:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Measures in the UK to make subscriptions clearer and easier to manage or cancel are expected to take effect in the spring of 2027, the government has said. The Department for Business and Trade said that across the UK, there are 155 million active subscriptions, but that almost 10 million are thought to be unwanted, with people caught out by autorenewals, or by free or discounted trial subscriptions turning into contracts. This plan may save consumers a total of £400 million a year, the DBT said.Statement follows....
