Antitrust litigation - Actavis - Warner Chilcott - Zydus Pharmaceuticals - Cadila Healthcare - Asacol

The United Food and Commercial Workers Unions and Employers Midwest Health Benefits Fund has filed an antitrust complaint against Actavis, Warner Chilcott, Zydus Pharmaceuticals, and Cadila Healthcare, alleging they unlawfully delayed the entry of generic versions of the ulcerative colitis drug Asacol. The complaint claims that Warner Chilcott stifled generic competition by removing Asacol shortly before its patent could expire in favor of a newer version.
