Bankrupt kitchen appliance maker Instant Brands received approval Tuesday in Texas federal court for an additional $30 million in Chapter 11 financing, which the company said was needed to make payments to vendors critical to continuing its business operations.

A Texas bankruptcy judge on Tuesday gave Instant Pot maker Instant Brands permission to take out $257.5 million in Chapter 11 financing that the company said it needs to stay in operation as it heads for a possible sale in August.

Instant Brands, the maker of Pyrex, Instant Pot and other housewares and appliances, filed for Chapter 11 protection in a Texas bankruptcy court Monday with more than $500 million in debt and what it said was $132.5 million in financing to stay in operation through the case.
