J&J Talc Unit Says Ch. 11 Only Recovery Option For Claimants
Attorneys representing the bankrupt talc unit of Johnson & Johnson summed up their case Friday in defense of its Chapter 11 filing, telling a New Jersey bankruptcy judge that if the proceedings are dismissed, most talc claimants will face unacceptable delay and risk in the tort system.

Ch. 11 For J&J Talc Unit Only Wise Choice, Top Lawyer Says
The chief legal officer of Johnson & Johnson's bankrupt talc unit testified Tuesday in New Jersey bankruptcy court that the company was being inundated with new ovarian cancer and mesothelioma lawsuits at a rate of one per hour all day, every day in 2020, and that filing a Chapter 11 case for a newly created subsidiary was the only rational way to deal with the mounting liability.

Talc Claimants Argue Bad Faith In J&J Unit's Ch. 11 Trial
Talc injury claimants in the Chapter 11 case of Johnson & Johnson's talc unit told a New Jersey bankruptcy judge Monday that the company filed for bankruptcy as a litigation strategy after getting hit with more than 38,000 personal injury suits, and that the case should be tossed on bad faith grounds.
