9/11 Insurers' $9.3B Al-Qaida Claims Get Judge's Nod
A New York magistrate judge overseeing part of the multidistrict litigation over 9/11 recommended Friday that five insurance carriers receive $9.35 billion in damages stemming from the terrorist attacks after they obtained default judgments against al-Qaida in April 2006.

Saudi Bin Ladin Group Wants Out Of 9/11 MDL
An engineering and construction company owned by Osama bin Laden's family has asked once again to be released from the multidistrict litigation relating to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, claiming that the plaintiffs have yet to make a claim after four years of discovery.

Judge Lets Al-Qaida Donors Off Hook In 9/11 MDL
A federal judge has granted dismissal to more than three dozen foreign defendants — including relatives of Osama bin Laden — in a case accusing them of donating funds later funneled to the group behind the Sept. 11 attacks, finding that the court did not have specific jurisdiction over them.
