A federal judge said Wednesday that a New York developer had settled its suit claiming Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. was required to pay it an $8.2 million judgment related to a contractor's alleged breach of a bonded construction agreement.

A New York federal judge on Thursday denied Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.'s bid to dodge nearly $4.2 million in coverage for Hicks & Warren LLC for legal fees in arbitration over a bonded contract with another company to construct a residential complex.
