Apple has urged a California federal court to throw out a suit claiming it blocked competing coronavirus tracking apps from its stores, arguing that it doesn't have any obligation to distribute apps that are "inconsistent with its guidelines or policies or that threaten its consumers' health or safety."

Apple is facing two different antitrust suits over the way it runs its App Store, one accusing it of having a monopoly on software distribution for its devices and another saying it blocked rival coronavirus tracking apps from its store, but it's not going to be allowed to link the suits together.
