A federal judge on Tuesday denied Alabama Gas Corp.'s attempt to score indemnification from Travelers Casualty & Surety Co. for $4 million it spent remediating a polluted site, ruling the company didn't face any liability during the policy period.

An Alabama federal judge ruled Tuesday that Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. didn't act in bad faith by denying coverage to Alabama Gas Corp. even after federal regulators alerted the company that it could be responsible for a polluted site.
