Starr Indemnity & Liability formally settled its negligence suit against a New Hampshire power company over an outage caused by an "unfortunately adventurous" squirrel, according to filings in New Hampshire federal court.

A power outage that a technology company says damaged its products was the result of a "tragically curious squirrel," not negligence or a breach of contract, the Public Service Co. of New Hampshire argued in its bid for a pretrial win in the suit from the tech company's insurer.
