Order on Motion to Stay Discovery
ORDER granting 13 Defendants' Unopposed Motion to Stay Discovery. As described in the Unopposed Motion, Defendants have filed a motion to dismiss that raises immunity issues. ECF No. 13 at 3-4. The Court concludes that a stay is appropriate because immunity issues generally should be resolved before discovery begins. See Oldridge v. City of Wichita, Kan., No. 21-1284, 2022 WL 15434503, at *1 (D. Kan. Oct. 7, 2022). Therefore, the Court grants the Motion as unopposed and for good cause shown. The Court suspends the deadlines in the Initial Order Regarding Planning and Scheduling, including the July 7, 2026 scheduling conference. As appropriate, the Court will set a scheduling conference and impose related deadlines after the District Judge rules on the pending motion to dismiss. This Order does not impact or alter any deadlines related to the pending motion to dismiss, ECF No. 12. Signed by Magistrate Judge Rachel E. Schwartz on June 22, 2026. (This is a TEXT ENTRY ONLY. There is no.pdf document associated with this entry.) (drk)
