ORDER:IT IS ORDERED that the status conference scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, is CONTINUED WITHOUT DATE. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Court will apply the "Purcell principle" and not attempt to resolve the issues raised by Movants in their Renewed Motion to Reopen Clark, to Declare Act 243 Unenforceable and for Further Equitable Relief (Doc. 761) before the November election. See Disability Rts. Louisiana v. Landry, No. 24-554, 2024 WL 3566698 (M.D. La. July 29, 2024) (deGravelles, J.); Singleton v. E. Baton Rouge Par. Sch. Bd., 621 F. Supp. 3d 618 (M.D. La. 2022) (deGravelles, J.). IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Court will resolve in due course the questions of whether to (1) reopen the current case, (2) grant relief from and/or enforce the underlying judgments, (3) declare the obligations of same satisfied, and/or (4) declare Act 243 enforceable. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, should oral argument be beneficial to the Court, the Court will schedule same. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, in light of these orders, Movant's request for a status conference (Doc. 764) is denied without prejudice to their right to raise the issue again after the resolution of the issues detailed in this text entry.
