Bulgaria's Banks Under ECB Spotlight As It Eyes Eurozone
Law360, London (November 13, 2018, 1:17 PM GMT) -- The European Central Bank has announced it will undertake a “comprehensive assessment” of six Bulgarian lenders, which will include a stress test and a review of their assets, as the country seeks to join the bloc’s banking union.
The ECB will scrutinize the four largest banks and two lower-ranked institutions, as many of Bulgaria's lenders prepare to adopt tougher capital buffers imposed by the national bank as the country eyes the euro bloc.
