Vannin Denied Quick Win In £14M RBS Litigation Funding Suit

Law360, London (January 3, 2019, 6:49 PM GMT) -- A London judge has rejected efforts by litigation funder Vannin Capital PCC for a quick win in a High Court suit seeking £14 million ($17.7 million) from the shareholders who won a £200 million settlement from Royal Bank of Scotland over its 2008 rights issue.

Deputy Judge Joanna Smith ruled in a judgment published by the court on Dec. 28 that the suit must head to a full trial, rejecting attempts by Vannin and a group of RBS investors each seeking an early resolution to Vannin's suit claiming a slice of the 2017 payout over two disputed litigation funding agreements....
