Investor Ordered To Pay Up In €11M Bank Of Scotland Suit

Law360, London (January 8, 2019, 3:22 PM GMT) -- A property investor who unsuccessfully sued a Lloyds Banking Group PLC unit in connection with an €11 million ($12.5 million) property loan has been ordered by a court in London to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds to the bank.

The High Court issued an interim charging order against Brian McDonagh on Friday, requiring him to hand over £625,000 ($795,000) after he lost his 2018 damages suit against Bank of Scotland PLC, which he brought after the forced sale of one of his investment properties.

The charge will be finalized at a hearing in London on Feb. 15, according to the order....
