Barclays Wins Partial Approval For Brexit Transfers
Law360, London (January 29, 2019, 4:58 PM GMT) -- A London judge on Tuesday said Barclays PLC could pursue plans to transfer part of its European business in the U.K. to an Irish subsidiary in preparation for a no-deal Brexit, though he blocked it from moving customers who only ever made certain trades with its investment banking subsidiary.
The 31-page judgment handed down by High Court Judge Richard Snowden on Tuesday morning signs off on plans for Barclays Bank PLC to transfer elements of its business to to Barclays Bank Ireland PLC.
