Tech PE Firm Fights Otello's Claim For $70M In Share Sale

Law360, London (February 7, 2019, 9:34 PM GMT) -- A U.S. investment firm with a majority stake in an English streaming media company argued that if it must buy out the minority shareholder — the developer of the Opera web browser — it shouldn't have to pay anywhere near the $70 million the Norwegian tech company claims the shares are worth.

The new court filing from Moore Frères & Co. LLC, a U.S. investment firm specializing in the tech sector, comes in the wake of a decision last year by the High Court that MFC abused its powers to prevent the sale of the tech company's shares to a U.S.-based software company....
