RBS Investor Group Challenges Vannin's Right To Bring Suit

Law360, London (February 8, 2019, 9:51 PM GMT) -- A company that represented shareholders who won a £200 million ($259 million) settlement from Royal Bank of Scotland over its 2008 rights issue has urged London's High Court to toss a litigation funder's lawsuit seeking a slice of the settlement, saying the company has no legal standing to bring the claim.

RBOS Shareholders Action Group Ltd. said in defense documents filed Wednesday the suit should be dismissed because the company bringing it is "plainly a different legal entity" than the company that entered two disputed litigation funding agreements at the heart of the claim.
