Tchenguiz Funds Say Attys In Fee Row Agreed To Defer Pay

Law360, London (April 2, 2019, 8:30 PM BST) -- Two funds linked to property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz have denied accusations that lawyers at Stephenson Harwood LLP weren't paid for work connected to the real estate mogul's high-profile court battles, telling a London court that the law firm ditched a repayment agreement. 

Attorneys from Fort Trustees Ltd. and Balchan Management Ltd. alleged the law firm, which is suing the funds for approximately £5.68 million ($7.4 million) in unpaid legal fees, had agreed to defer its outstanding bills until after its work was completed, according to documents filed with the High Court on March 25.
