Asset Mgr Wins Bid To Recoup Banker's Fees In Fraud Row

Law360, London (March 28, 2019, 2:34 PM GMT) -- U.K. asset manager FM Capital Partners Ltd. can recover the commissions a former Julius Baer banker earned allegedly helping his boss swindle millions away from a Libyan sovereign wealth fund, a London judge said Thursday. 

Judge Sara Cockerill said in a High Court ruling that approximately $4.3 million in fees Yoshiki Ohmura made "dishonestly" assisting former FM Capital chief executive Frederic Marino could be claimed by the asset manager to pay back its client, the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio.
