But they aren't the first high-profile litigants to think twice about having a jury decide their fate once they got to court.
Around the same time a Qualcomm attorney was wrapping up opening statements in the case Tuesday, the two companies announced they had settled all litigation between them. Apple gave Qualcomm an undisclosed payment and made a deal to keep using Qualcomm's technology in its products.
