Macquarie Seeking €19M In Wind Farm Fees As Trial Opens

Law360, London (May 1, 2019, 4:50 PM BST) -- A Macquarie Group unit told a London judge on Wednesday that it is entitled to €19 million ($21.3 million) in fees and interest from a German wind farm developer and operator, regardless of whether it raised the money for construction of a project at the heart of the deal.

Opening the first day of the trial, Daniel Toledano QC, representing Macquarie Capital (Europe) Ltd., told the High Court that his client is owed the financial advisory fees under an agreement with Windreich AG in January 2013, because construction of an offshore wind farm in the North Sea off Germany was completed...
