IG Markets Sues For English Court's Recognition Of Contract

Law360, London (May 11, 2019, 2:16 AM BST) -- Trading broker IG Markets Ltd. asked a London court to rule that a contract it has with an Italian client is valid, binding and enforceable and governed by English law, according to a recently released High Court filing.

In its claim, UK-based IG Markets states that it had a 2015 agreement with defendant Dimitri D'Alessandro in which the derivatives broker would provide “various services relating to the financial markets.”  The contract stated that the applicable law for the agreement was English law.

Since that deal was inked, D'Alessandro “has traded extensively” with IG Markets, according to the February claim.
