A New York federal judge on Wednesday refused to block enforcement of a provision of New York's new concealed carry law prohibiting guns in places of worship, saying the two men leading the suit are unlikely to succeed on their claims that the provision violates their constitutional rights.

The president of Congregation Bnei Matisyahu in Brooklyn and a member of a separate Rockland County synagogue are asking a New York federal court to strike down a recently passed ban on firearms in places of worship, saying it is unconstitutional and prevents them from protecting themselves during religious observations.
