Order on Motion to Vacate Order on Motion for Recusal
Magistrate Judge Jennifer C. Boal: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered DENYING 153 Motion to Vacate & Motion for Recusal. On June 22, 2026, Defendant Boston College filed a motion to extend the dispositive motion deadline, Docket No. 148 , which this Court granted on June 29, 2026, Docket No. 150 . Plaintiff Agaj now moves to vacate that order, arguing he was not afforded adequate time to respond to the motion. Docket No. 153 at 3. Reasonable requests to extend filing deadlines are routinely granted and fall squarely within the Court's discretion. Pursuant to Rule 6(b)(1)(A) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, a court may extend a deadline for good cause "with or without motion or notice" if the request is made before the original deadlines expiration. Nevertheless, this Court has reviewed Agaj's subsequent opposition, see Docket No. 151 , and finds no basis to alter its prior ruling. Accordingly, the motion to vacate is denied. Agaj also renews his request for my disqualification. I have previously rejected such a request, finding that Agaj has not satisfied the basis for doing so as his principal complaint appears to be unfavorable rulings. Docket No. 133 . Because Agaj offers no new facts or legal grounds to support his position, there is no basis to reconsider that ruling. Accordingly, the motion to disqualify is also denied. Agaj may, of course, appeal any of my rulings to Judge Kobick. (AHH)
