PAPERLESS ORDER: The court is in receipt of the parties' Initial Joint Status Report at ECF No. 17 advising the court of the parties' request for a Rule 16 conference in view of their diverging views on two discrete topics: deposition hours and the timing of a settlement conference. As to the first, the parties are advised that the (agreed upon) 30 hours for depositions is inclusive of Rule 30(b)(6) fact witness depositions. Regarding referral to a U.S. Magistrate Judge for a settlement conference, the court will refer this action to a Magistrate Judge now; the parties can discuss scheduling a conference with the Magistrate Judge for a time that is agreeable to all parties. (In view of the long lead time for scheduling of conferences, this will allow the parties to schedule their conference for a time agreeable to all.) If the parties still request a Rule 16 conference in view of the foregoing, they shall file a joint line so advising the court within ten (10) days of this.
