Order on Motion for Extension of Time
ORDER granting Motion for Extension of Time until November 1, 2026, for Defendant to respond to the Interrogatories and Requests for Production of Documents. Plaintiff is allowed a commensurate three-week extension of the deadline to file a motion to compel related to these discovery requests. While the Court appreciates the parties' desire to keep the Court apprised of the progress of discovery, the parties need not seek leave of Court, and are free to agree to extensions amongst themselves concerning discovery deadlines, unless a "stipulation extending the time for any form of discovery... would interfere with the time set for completing discovery, for hearing a motion, or for trial[.]" See Fed. R. Civ. P. 29(b). The Court notes, however, that it is unlikely to permit extension of the discovery completion deadline merely due to extensions in responding to individual requests. Signed by Judge Sarala V. Nagala on September 3, 2026. (RB)
