Order on Motion for Extension of Time to File Response/Reply/Answer
PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon Defendant Abacus Energy Investments LLC's ("Defendant Abacus") Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time to Respond to Plaintiff Texas Insurance Company's Complaint for Declaratory Judgment. 40 . Therein, Defendant Abacus requests a ten-day extension of time to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint, because the Parties' settlement negotiations "have progressed from discussion to documentation." Id. at 2. The Court finds good cause to grant this extension, but notes it will grant no further extensions based on the possibility of the Parties settling. Accordingly, UPON CONSIDERATION of the Unopposed Motion, the pertinent portions of the record, and being otherwise advised of the premises, it is hereby ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that Defendant Abacus's Motion 40 is GRANTED. Defendant Abacus shall respond to Plaintiff's Complaint on or before September 24, 2026. If the Parties reach a settlement before then, they are ORDERED to promptly file a notice of settlement on the docket. Signed by Judge K. Michael Moore on 9/11/2026. (hyn)
