   TEXT ORDER-- The Court received a letter on June 16, 2026 from Defendant Joseph D. Porter (ECF No. 59 ) advising that he is a citizen of the United States and annexing an image of his American passport (which the Court has placed under seal). However, when removing this case pursuant to diversity jurisdiction, Defendant International Training & Exchange, Inc. ("ITEI") alleged that Porter was "neither a United States citizen nor a legal permanent resident." (ECF No. 1 par. 8). As Plaintiffs are deemed to be New Jersey citizens, the Court is now concerned that Porter may have been a New Jersey citizen at the time of removal and that diversity was lacking. Therefore, by June 30, 2026, ITEI shall submit a letter not exceeding 3 pages demonstrating that Porter was not a New Jersey citizen at the time of this case's removal from state court. By July 6, 2026, Plaintiffs may file a response to ITEI's submission. If appropriate, the appearing parties may in the alternative submit a stipulation to remand to state court. ITEI is also DIRECTED to serve a copy of this text order upon Porter by regular mail at the address of his incarceration that he provides with his June 16, 2026 letter, including his Prisoner ID Number, and to file proof of service by June 24, 2026.
