MINUTE entry before the Honorable Karyn L. Bass Ehler. In-person status and motion hearing held 8/4/26. The parties updated the Court on their continued discussions to resolve their pending discovery disputes and identified what discovery remains in this case. For the reasons stated on the record, Defendant John Hall's Motion to Stay Discovery Pending Resolution of Defendant's Motion to Dismiss 38 is denied. Joint oral motion to extend the close of fact discovery by 60 days is granted. All fact discovery shall be completed by 1/5/27, and all expert discovery, if any, shall be completed by 3/9/27. The parties also reported that they continue to discuss settlement, but Plaintiff is not interested in a settlement conference at this time. If Plaintiff's position on settlement changes and the parties are interested in scheduling a settlement conference with the Court, they shall contact the Court's courtroom deputy at jose_mejia@ilnd.uscourts.gov to request a settlement conference. The parties shall file a joint status report by 10/6/26 that includes the following information: (1) an update on the status of discovery, including what depositions have been taken to date and the schedule of any remaining depositions; (2) whether the parties anticipate expert discovery; and (3) if the parties are interested in scheduling a settlement conference.
