MINUTE entry before the Honorable Keri L. Holleb Hotaling: The Court is in receipt of Plaintiff's Response in Opposition to Defendants' Joint Motion to Compel Completion of Plaintiff's Deposition [Dkt. 279]. After reviewing this response, the Court reviewed the 8/4/2026 hearing, and while the issue of how long each Defendant might need to depose Plaintiff was raised at that hearing, no Defendant was limited to a certain time. The Court ultimately notified Plaintiff that he would "need at least a half-day, possibly more, and they're entitled to that under the Federal Rules, to make [himself] available for a deposition." It remains true that Defendants are entitled to 7 hours of deposition testimony under Rule 30(d)(1). The motion hearing on Defendants' Joint Motion to Compel Completion of Plaintiff's Deposition [Dkt. 277] remains set for 9/10/2026 at 10:00 a.m. CT. The call in information is 855-244-8681, and the participant access code is 2315 0911 461#. Members of the public and media will be able to call in to listen to this hearing but will be placed on mute. Persons granted remote access to proceedings are reminded of the general prohibition against photographing, recording, and rebroadcasting of court proceedings. Violation of these prohibitions may result in sanctions, including removal of court issued media credentials, restricted entry to future hearings, denial of entry to future hearings, or any other sanctions deemed necessary by the Court. Additionally, persons are to place their devices on mute when they are not speaking. Again, the Court STRONGLY urges the parties to come to a resolution of this matter on their own before the hearing or the Court will consider assessing sanctions against the Plaintiff.
