Case Management Conference
Minutes of proceedings [non-document] before Chief District Judge Sara Lioi. On September 24, 2026, the Court conducted a telephonic case management conference. Attorneys Alex Freitag, Brian Bardwell, Sara Cooper, and Stephen Yard participated. The Court discussed with counsel dates and deadlines that will appear in the Court's case management plan and trial order. The Court also discussed the now fully briefed motion to dismiss (Doc. No. 19 ) and advised that it will issue a ruling in due course. Additionally, the Court raised with counsel the possibility of mediation. Counsel agreed that mediation would not likely be productive at this time, but would inform the Court if that changed. As for the parties' proposed protective order (see Doc. No. 18 -1), the Court asked counsel to review Section 7 of their proposal and consider a revision that more fully comports with Section 6 of Appendix L of the Court's local rules. Finally, the Court advised counsel that it requires the filing of 45-day joint status reports. Should at any time the parties wish a referral to mediation before the magistrate judge, a member of the Court's ADR panel, or Senior District Judge James Gwin, counsel may so indicate in a joint status report, by filing a joint motion, or by contacting chambers directly. (Court Reporter: None.) Time: 24 minutes. (B,DL)
