ORDER signed by Senior Judge William B. Shubb on 6/22/2026 DENYING 108 Request for Reconsideration. (Deputy Clerk KEZ)
Minute Order ~Util - 1 Set/Reset Deadlines and Hearings ~Util - Set/Reset Motion Hearing
MINUTE ORDER issued by Magistrate Judge Chi Soo Kim on 6/22/2026: As discussed at the May 5, 2026 hearing on Defendant's motion to compel Plaintiff's Rule 30(b)(6) deposition and Plaintiff's motion for a protective order as to same (ECF Nos. 35 , 65 ), the Court is implementing measures to control and organize its docket to promote efficiency and conserve limited judicial resources where the docket has become unwieldy and confusing based on the parties' multiple and sometimes duplicative discovery-related filings. This Minute Order addresses the following pending discovery motions at ECF Nos. 66 , 67 , 81 , 82 , 83 , 84 , and 85 , with hearings set as follows:* ECF No. 66: Plaintiff's motion for protective order re: Aston deposition -- re-set for hearing on 7/28/26.* ECF No. 67: Plaintiff's motion to compel re: 1st set of RFAs -- re-set for hearing on 7/28/26.* ECF No. 81: Plaintiff's motion to compel re: 1st set of RFPs -- continue hearing from 7/7/26 to 7/28/26.* ECF No. 82: Plaintiff's motion to compel re: 2d set of RFPs -- continue hearing from 7/7/26 to 7/28/26. * ECF No. 83: Plaintiff's motion to compel re: 2d set of ROGs -- continue hearing from 7/7/26 to 7/28/26.* ECF No. 84: Plaintiff's motion to compel re: 1st set of ROGs -- continue hearing from 7/7/26 to 7/28/26. * ECF No. 85: Plaintiff's motion for protective order re: Nathan deposition and for sanctions -- continue hearing from 7/7/26 to 7/28/26. The parties are ordered to file 2 separate Joint Statements for the 7 discovery motions with the following additional requirements. All disputes concerning depositions (ECF Nos. 66 & 85 ) will be addressed in one Joint Statement; and all disputes concerning written discovery (ECF Nos. 67 , 81 - 84 ) will be addressed in a second Joint Statement. Each Joint Statement will have an increased page limit from 20 pages to 25 pages; only one set of exhibits may be submitted with each Joint Statement; any declarations must be filed together with the Joint Statement as an attachment to the Joint Statement; and the Joint Statements must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on July 14, 2026. The parties may not file separate or additional documents, and any documents filed related to these discovery motions that do not follow this order or seek leave of court will be disregarded and stricken. The Joint Statements must briefly identify any issues that have been resolved and focus on the outstanding discovery disputes. If ANY OTHER discovery disputes arise before the July 14, 2026 deadline for the Joint Statements that are not identified in the 7 motions above, the parties may include these issues in the appropriate Joint Statement (depositions or written discovery) only if there has been a sufficient meet and confer as to the issue. (Text Only Entry) (Deputy Clerk AW)
