   ENDORSED ORDER: Defendants Jonathan Ascensao, Nathalie Ascensao, Bayview Medical & Rehab Center, Inc., Murthy S. Ravipati, Elizabeth Salvia, Lilibet Sanchez, and James A. Zaccari filed their answer to the complaint on July 16, 2026. (Doc. # 42). However, these Defendants' answers to the complaint were due on July 13, 2026, as July 12 was a Sunday. See (Doc. # 23 at 2; Doc. # 24). Because Plaintiffs did not move to strike Defendants' late-filed answer, the Court is left to wonder whether the parties privately agreed to allow a late-filed answer. This is not proper. Extensions of time are granted within the Court's discretion. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b). The Court would be well within its rights to sua sponte strike the late-filed answer since permission to file out-of-time was not sought. Nevertheless, the Court will move forward with this litigation. The Court expects compliance with deadlines and Court rules and regulations. Signed by Judge Virginia M.
