Scheduling Conference
MINUTES for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Kayla D McClusky: SCHEDULING CONFERENCE held on 6/14/2024. Present were Anthony Bruscato, counsel for Plaintiffs, and Robert Landry, counsel for Defendant. Although this matter was set for a scheduling conference, counsel raised an issue regarding the jurisdictional amount. Although I previously made a finding of diversity jurisdiction in this case, that finding was provisional, and the Court has a duty to, sua sponte, inquire into jurisdiction. Accordingly, no later than August 9, 2024, the parties shall simultaneously file memoranda on the issues regarding the jurisdictional amount. The parties then shall have two weeks, until August 23, 2024, to file replies. After that time, the undersigned will issue a jurisdictional finding. If the Court has jurisdiction, a scheduling conference will then be re-set. (jud,McClusky, Kayla)
