Order to Show Cause
ORDER: ORDER: By August 24, defendants were directed to serve a copy of the Court's August 19 Order on plaintiffs and to file proof of service on the docket. Defendants have not done so. Defendants are directed to comply with the Court's August 19 Order forthwith. They are also directed to file a letter on the docket explaining the reason for their non-compliance. Ordered by Judge Eric R. Komitee on 8/25/2026. (JRS)
ORDER: On July 28, 2026, plaintiffs failed to appear at a status hearing before Magistrate Judge Cross-Goldenberg. They also failed to respond to defendants' motion to "quash service" 38 or file proof of proper service by the court-ordered deadline of August 11, 2026. Those failures are in addition to plaintiffs' having declined to participate, as ordered, in the joint status reports filed during the pendency of the bankruptcy stay.
By August 28, 2026, plaintiffs are directed to respond to defendants' motion to quash service 38 or file proper proof of service. Plaintiffs are also directed to show cause, in that same submission, why the claims in this case should not be dismissed either as moot, for failure to prosecute this action, or both. Defendants shall serve a copy of this Order on plaintiffs and file proof of service by August 24, 2026. Ordered by Judge Eric R. Komitee on 8/19/2026. (JRS)
