Order
TEXT ORDER. Defense counsel--Holly A. Rice and Susana Arce--have filed a motion to withdraw (Doc. 28) from representing Naples Land Yacht Harbor, Inc. in this matter. So it appears that Defendant will be left without counsel. As such, Defendant has until October 27, 2026, to obtain counsel and to file a notice of appearance. Otherwise, Defendant risks being held in default because a corporate entity may not represent itself pro se but must be represented by an attorney licensed to practice before this Court. See Palazzo v. Gulf Oil Corp., 764 F.2d 1381, 1385 (11th Cir. 1985) ("The rule is well established that a corporation is an artificial entity that can act only through agents, cannot appear pro se, and must be represented by counsel."). Attorneys Rice and Arce are from the same firm as attorney Joseph Allen Bare, so we assume he will be filing a motion to withdraw as well. Signed by Magistrate Judge Nicholas P. Mizell on 10/13/2026. (TLP)
