Order on Expedited Motion
PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS MATTER is before the Court on the Parties' Joint Expedited Motion for One-Week Extension of Pretrial Deadlines (DE 292 ) ("Motion"). In the Motion, the Parties request that the October 5, 2026 pretrial deadline for filing the joint pretrial stipulation, exhibit lists, witness lists, deposition designations, and proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law be extended one-week to October 12, 2026. (DE 292 ). Upon review of the Motion and the record, and for good cause shown, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the Motion is GRANTED. The Parties shall file the joint pretrial stipulation, exhibit lists, witness lists, deposition designations, and proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law on or before October 13, 2026.
Nonetheless, the Court notes that this Motion was improperly filed with an expedited designation. The Local Rules require an expedited motion to "set forth in detail the date by which an expedited ruling is needed and the reason the ruling is needed by the stated date." S.D. Fla. Local Rule 7.1(d)(2). The Motion does not include a date by which the Court is requested to issue a ruling, nor why this motion requires expedited consideration beyond the typical motion for extension of time. The Court is aware of the upcoming trial date, and the Parties shall no longer designate motions as expedited on that basis. The Parties are also expected to comply with all applicable rules and procedures, including the Local Rules, moving forward.
