Discovery Hearing
MINUTES OF Continued Discovery Hearing held before Magistrate Judge Shashi H. Kewalramani: The Court held a continued conference as previously scheduled. Attorney Tess Hellgren appeared on behalf of Plaintiffs and attorneys Matthew Smock and Jason Axe appeared on behalf of Defendants. The Court and counsel discussed the outstanding RFPs and interrogatories propounded by Plaintiffs on the record. As to Plaintiffs Interrogatory No. 1, this issued has been resolved. As to RFP No.1 issue, the spreadsheet will provided to Plaintiff no later than close of business on April 25, 2024. As to interrogatory No. 2, the Court sets a further status conference for April 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the specifics once Defense counsel has the opportunity to speak to the the appropriate agencies but will provide a response to Plaintiff no later than close of business on April 26, 2024 to Plaintiff. As to the RFP No. 2, the Court will have an in person meet and confer to review the documents at issue. The Court provided its available dates for an in person discovery conference, and requests that a representative from ICE, CBP or DHS be made available by phone on such day. The parties are to meet and confer for a stipulated date and provide that date to the Court. Lastly, as to the identified document material, Defense counsel will provide a date certain by when they will be produced no later than 1:00 p.m. on April 29, 2024 prior to the hearing. Counsel should also provide such to the Court for further review and discussion at the scheduled hearing. Time in Court: 1:05 mins. Court Recorder: COURTSMART. (dc)
