S. African Fund's Fight Over Plane Lease, $41M Loan Paused

Law360, London (December 14, 2018, 9:01 PM GMT) -- Legal proceedings brought by a South African investment fund against a Canadian export credit agency in the U.K. over an aircraft lease and a $41 million loan have been stayed to allow the parties to continue talks outside court.

Master Timothy Bowles on Tuesday ordered that Westdawn Investments Pty. Ltd.’s claim against Export Development Canada and a special purpose vehicle called Stoneriver MSN 9631 be put on hold until Jan. 10, after the parties agreed to extend a stay of proceedings that was due to expire this month.
