Apple Settles Swiss Antitrust Case Over Payment App
Law360 (December 18, 2018, 6:26 PM EST) -- Switzerland’s competition authority has closed an investigation into the launch of Apple Pay in the country after the tech giant agreed to take steps to make sure its rollout of the program doesn’t interfere with a similar app used by Swiss banks at cash registers.
Apple has agreed to create a solution allowing the Swiss app, Twint, to suppress Apple Pay at credit card machines to prevent interference between the programs, the Competition Commission, also known as Comco, said Tuesday.
