Motor Insurance Premiums Fall For 1st Time In 4 Years

Law360, London (January 24, 2019, 12:04 AM GMT) -- The average price paid by motor insurance policyholders over 2018 fell for the first time in four years, despite premium prices rising at the end of the year, a British insurance trade group said Thursday.

The Association of British Insurers, the voice of the U.K. industry, said the average cost of motor insurance fell in 2018 for the first calendar year since 2014. The average price paid by policyholders was £477 ($623), which was down 1 percent from the £481 high paid in 2017.
