EU OKs Measures To Improve Bloc's Investment Fund Market
Law360, London (February 6, 2019, 7:23 PM GMT) -- Europe has agreed on new rules aimed at making it easier, quicker and cheaper for asset managers to sell funds to a wider range of investors in the bloc, the European Commission has said.
The commission said on Tuesday that the agreement, which was reached by the European Parliament and the bloc’s member states, will encourage competition among funds across Europe by removing complex and burdensome investment requirements and harmonizing national rules. This will allow asset managers to market their products across the European Union and ensure that EU investors have access to a larger choice of better-valued funds, the commission said....
