Insurance Broker Loses £4M AXA Suit If No Docs, Judge Says

Law360, London (March 28, 2019, 3:56 PM GMT) -- A London judge told a medical insurance broker that it must hand over certain documents to an AXA SA unit that’s suing for more than £3.9 million ($5.1 million) over an allegedly breached sales contract, saying if the broker misses the court’s deadline it will lose the case.

In a March 22 order, Judge Robin Knowles gave insurance broker A La Carte Healthcare Ltd. one week to provide documents requested by AXA PPP Healthcare Ltd. If the documents aren’t disclosed by March 29, he said, “the defence will be struck out and judgment entered for the claimant.”
