Insurance Broker Says Client Knew Of Disclosure Obligations

Law360, London (April 11, 2019, 1:38 PM BST) -- An insurance broker has hit back at allegations it negligently allowed the owner of a commercial garage that burned down to buy invalid insurance, claiming in court documents that its client knew he had to disclose that he was subject to a court judgment.

Saffron Insurance Services Ltd. said in defense documents filed at the High Court in London that it had told its client Maurice Parker, who has since died, about his duty to disclose information that could affect his insurance, such as insolvencies and court judgments against him.
